Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) has long been used as a vegetable and as a herbal medicine to reduce blood sugar. Eating this vegetable is advisable for people having diabetic. Besides, this vegetable-fruit is rich in many other phytochemicals like flavonoids and other polyphenols which possess antioxidant capacity and anti-inflammatory effects. The components can reduce the risks of chronic diseases including cancer and high blood cholesterol level.
Bee honey is used to supplement with micronutrients and improve body immunity. It has been used in many folk remedies since long history until current time.
At our factory, the fresh fruits of bitter gourds is mixed with some amount of bee honey and sugar before drying into the final product using low temperature drying technology. Low temperature drying (heat-pump drying technology) preserve better the health-beneficial components occurring naturally in the fruit. The addition with honey is to improve the health benefits of the product why the addition with sugar is to improve the taste, make the product enjoyable to eat, and to improve the stability of the product.
Because the dried bitter gourd has been added with sugar and honey which contains a high ratio of fructose, which is also a sugar, therefore the product is not suitable for people who have diabetic.
